Nomad 883 Pro

The Nomad 883 Pro uses a spindle with an ER-11 collet system. The machines ship with a 1/8″ collet and nut like the one shown in the image below.

  1. 1/8″ Collet
  2. Collet Nut
  3. 1/8″ Cutter

The 1/8″ collet allows you to use any cutter that has a 1/8″ shank. You can see a variety of these cutters on our cutters page by looking at the #100 series:  http://shop.carbide3d.com/collections/cutters

Because the spindle uses the ER-11 collet system, you can purchase another collet that will allow you to use cutters with 1/4″ shank:  https://shop.carbide3d.com/products/25-er-11-collet-and-nut for use in appropriate materials.

Carbide Compact Router

The Carbide Compact Router has a diameter of 65mm and a speed range of 12k-30k RPM. The Carbide Compact Router includes a 1/4″ collet which allows you to use any cutter with a 1/4″ shank.

You can see a variety of 1/4″ shank cutters by looking at the #200 and #300 series: https://shop.carbide3d.com/collections/cutters.

If you are interested in using cutters with 1/8″ shank, we sell a precision collet set for the Carbide Compact Router: https://shop.carbide3d.com/products/precision-collets

CCR Precision Collet Set

This set is made in the USA specifically for the Carbide Compact Router and includes an ultra precise 1/4″ and 1/8″ collet.

P.S. None of our machines use a proprietary system for cutters. That means that any cutter, from any vendor will work. Just make sure you get the correct shank size for your machine!
